Employee Stops Smoking after 20 Years Thanks to Wellbeing Workshop!

In March of this year, Link Alliance introduced a series of Wellbeing workshops in partnership with Zeducation. These workshops aimed to empower employees with the knowledge and tools to enhance their personal wellbeing, make informed nutrition choices, and effectively manage stress and regulate emotions.

Out of the twenty-five individuals who completed the Wellbeing workshops, one particular success story stands out — Alipate (Alby) Hoeft, a crane and lift supervisor at Maungawhau.

After battling a smoking addiction for over twenty years, Alby finally found the strength to quit smoking, crediting his achievement to Zeducation's Wellbeing workshop. For Alby, smoking for him was a stress-reliever and he says that the Wellbeing training showed him other strategies to deal with stress. He now goes for walks and talks to his friends instead of turning to his previous two pack a day smoking habit. This shift has not only resulted in improved personal health but has also had a positive impact on his family and work life.

Alby says that ... “I’m now saving money and my life, and it’s been great for my family and work life.”
